Tathapi Trust - Women And Health Resource Development

Flat No. 1, 73, Sangam Society, Bibwewadi, Off Pune Satara Road, Pune - 411037.

We partner to design and implement health programmes to ensure an increase in women’s access to health services.

We document how changing socioeconomic environments impact poor women, their work and health.

Tathapi uphold people’s rights to health and to information. Tathapi sees gender equality – interwoven with struggles for economic and social equity – as essential towards ‘Health for All’ and therefore Health for All Women”.

Tathapi also defends the rights of local communities to conserve and develop their health and healing resources. Advocacy for awareness and policy change on otherwise ‘invisible’, ‘increased’, ‘drudgery’ aspects of women’s work, health and violence against women is the mainstay of our work.

Therefore, we partner with local organisations to build and strengthen capacities. These include processes that ensure
– Women in decision making
– Developing health programmes to increase access to rational health services
– Understand their own realities better through surveys
These are typically partnerships of 1-3 years. These include developing resources for bringing health information and perspectives to micro-credit groups, and training local village women as first-contact health workers.
